Youth in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo capital city, have warned the ruling party UDPS against sponsoring a rally at the Stade de Martyrs to respond to their out-pouring of frustrations when Pope Francis visited the country.
A video of youths declaring that Tshisekedi’s mandate had come to an end ahead of the elections on December 20, 2023, has not sat down well with the ruling party.
An official of the ruling party, Augustin Kabuya, announced that the genuine youths of Congo and not those hired by some Catholic priests will offer solidarity to President Felix Tshisekedi.
The solidarity meeting was abrupted cancelled and earmarked for another. But a video has surfaced of youths warning that such a meeting would be a declaration of war with the people.
