Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa Presidents Fèlix Tshisekedi and Cyril Ramaphosa’s business agenda is taking shape and poses a detrimental effect on the Congolese side.
South Africa have received strong financial guarantees from the DRC which has seen the former change its stance and rush to send troops on the SADC Mission to the war-ravaged eastern region.
Tshisekedi had to swiftly and desperately resolved the financial dispute with the SADC in order to secure military support for the east.
Tshisekedi and Ramaphosa’s long-term agenda is to try and take control of the Rubaya Mine in Masisi territory of North Kivu Province.
Tshisekedi has just sold Rubaya Mine to Ramaphosa in a deal that has been discovered by South African political figures like Julius Malema and other intellectuals.
The hasty deployment of South African Defence Force (SANDF) troops that has already resulted in the deaths of some soldiers has been widely rejected and declared as one that in no way serves the interests of the country.
The SANDF deployment to the DRC can now be declared as a commercial mission and the Congolese population are called to protect one of its resources.
If SADC is there whats their roll.
