Opposition common candidate Moïse Katumbi has arrived in Bukavu of South Kivu Province, a territory perceived to be a stronghold of the ruling Sacred Union party.
Multitudes of people in the beautiful resort city of Bukavu have turned up on the streets to welcome Katumbi as he continues his campaign in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Katumbi has once again and in a different territory attracted an overwhelming crowd that has gathered for the rally set to be held at the Independence Square in the city centre of Bukavu.
Bukavu is perceived to be a stronghold of incumbent Fèlix Tshisekedi through Deputy Prime Minister Vital Kamerhe who hails from the region.
Over 990,000 people have turned up for Katumbi’s rally in what looks to be an overwhelming statement of his dominance and popularity over Kamerhe who could only draw a simple crowd during his visit earlier this month.
