The Congolese Human Rights Commission has condemned Kinshasa governor Gentiny Ngobila for deliberately allowing three ddemonstrations the same ddy stating that it was the recipe of anarchy seen yesterday.
Ngobila, in consultation with President Felix Tshisekedi, allowed the ruling party to hold a procession on the same day, May 20, 2023, the opposition had requested to march.
The commission described the response by the police to stop the opposition demonstration as repressive and barbaric.
Ngobila is a member of the Sacred Union and close ally of Tshisekedi.
The Commission has roundly condemned the police for using disproportionate force to disperse the demonstrators with two reportedly dead but not officially announced.
