French-based Democratic Republic of Congo international Vital N’Simba maintains his fine performances in the Ligue 2 for FC Girondins Bordeaux, news that will be music to national team coach Sebastien Desabre ahead of next month’s crucial Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
N’Simba has enjoyed a powerful 2022/23 season with Bordeaux in the French second-tier and was recently rewarded for his consistency last weekend when he was named in the Ligue 2 team of the week.
The 29 year old Angolan-born full-back put in a yet another impressive for Bordeaux who romped to a 3-0 victory over Stade Laval to boost their hopes of gaining promotion into Ligue 1.
His consistent displays this season gives Les Leopards breeder the luxury of multiple-choices at left-back where he also has the experienced Arthur Masuaku of Besiktas in Turkey.
N’Simba with his solid defensive and offensive skills, would emerge as an alternative option to Masuaku at left-back ahead of the must-win encounter against the Panthers of Gabon.
Desabre’s Les Leopards find themselves sitting at the basement of Group I with 4 points in the qualifiers for the AFCON.
That situation leaves the two-time African champions needing a victory against table toppers Gabon when they clash on June 18 at the Stade de Franceville.
