TSHISEKEDI’S THIEVING AGENT: DRC Immigration Called to Ban Malian Who Got U$13 Million in Street Lighting Project From Leaving the Country

The immigration department in the Democratic Republic of Congo have received a request to ban Fèlix Tshisekedi’s money embezzling agent Samba Bathily from leaving the country.

In a report filed by Jules Alingete, Inspector General of the the DRC’s General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF), the immigration have been urged to not allow Samba Bathily to leave the country before answering to a case in which he got US$13 million from the Public Treasury for the installment of street lights.

Samba Bathily, a Malian national, and his company Solektra Sarlu were contracted in 2022 to install 2,584 street lights in Kinshasa at the cost of U$13 million.

However, an audit conducted by the IGF reveals that Bathily, a close friend and thieving agent of the Tshisekedi government, has not done any works despite having been paid in full.

Bathily has since been issued a 3-months ultimatum to is to honor his commitments or be brought before the relevant authorities.
