The Military Court in the Democratic Republic of Congo have finally accepted opposition leader Moïse Katumbi’s special advisor Salomon Kalonda Della request for his provisional release from prison.
Kalonda Della had been incarcerated since last year in May for fake charges of conspiring with the M23 Rebel Group to overthrow Fèlix Tshisekedi.
He had been detained at Ndolo Prison before being transferred to a specialist hospital in Kinshasa for health care.
Kalonda’s lawyers had at several times submitted requests for his provisional release which were rejected at the order of Tshisekedi and his cohorts.
However, after being massively elected as provincial deputy while he was incarcerated, Kalonda special will finally regain his seat in the Provincial Assembly of Maniema Province.
