STILL STUCK IN KINSHASA: Fiston Mayele & Three Other Leopards Set To Miss Upcoming Friendlies In Europe

DR Congo national team could be without striker Fiston Mayele Kalala and goalkeeper Siadi Baggio for the upcoming international friendly matches against New Zealand and Angola in Europe.

Kalala, an instrumental part of Sebastien Desabre’s Leopards frontline, and TP Mazembe goalminder as well as technical staffers in assistant coach Mihayo Kazembe and goalkeeper coach Robert Kidiaba remain stuck in the DR Congo awaiting visas to travel to Spain.

Reports have suggest that the Congolese Football Federation, FECOFA had submitted an excessive list of members of the delegation and are now struggling to secure visas for the quad.

FECOFA are said to have reached out to the Congolese Ambassador to Spain for immediate assistance to have Mayele and the others travel to Spain to be available for the friendly against the New Zealanders but received no favourable response.

Mayele’s availability for the encounter looks more unlikely with just less than 48 hours to the match to be played on Friday in Murcia, Spain.

Meanwhile, the Leopards are also set to face the Parancas Negras of Angola in another friendly on Tuesday in the city of Vila Real de Santo Antonio in Portugal.
