President Félix Tshisekedi has sent a message of condolences to Cherubin Okende’s family shrouded in hypocrisy.
According to a statement by Tshisekedi’s offici government spokesman Patrick Muyaya, the government is horrified and has ordered investigations.
“The Government learned with horror of the assassination of the Honorary Minister of Transport, the Honorable Chérubin Okende Senga. While condemning this heinous act, government has instructed all security services to diligently carry out a thorough investigation in order to shed light on this unacceptable act. The Government offers its deepest condolences to his family,” said Muyaya on his twitter account.
According to Okende’s family, he was arrested and taken away by armed men yesterday.
Okende appeared at the Constitutional Court with his bodyguard on Wednesday July 12.
