A video has emerged on social media featuring a group of young people hired by DRC President Fèlix Tshisekedi’s UDPS party to help welcome the Republican President during his visit in Kolwezi, Lualaba Province.
With the people of the Katanga territory seemingly uninterested in their own leader Tshisekedi’s visit, the UDPS were prompted to organize groups of people whom they had promised to pay off a some dollars avoid the reality of an embarrassing low turn-out at their leader’s arrival.
In the video, a group of youths are seen demanding for payment of the monies that the UDPS leadership in Kolwezi had promised to pay after the youths had given Tshisekedi a feigned reception.
The people of Katanga have been left hugely disappointed by President Tshisekedi for his failure to fulfill a good deal of the promises he made to the community including transformation of the mining sector and infrastructure development.
