Opposition Candidate and ECiDe party leader Martin Fayulu has been told he cannot hold his final campaign rally at the Pentecost Martyrs Stadium in the DRC capital Kinshasa.
Fayulu, who is due to conclude his campaign next week on Tuesday, had applied to host his final meeting at the 80,000 capacity sports facility that has since been declared unavailable.
The Ministry of Sports have claimed that the stadium cannot host Fayulu’s campaign rally as it is currently undergoing rehabilitation in preparation for the African Games which will only be held in 2027.
Fayulu and camp are still yet to react to their rejected request that puts their final campaign stretch in the nation’s capital limbo ahead of next week Wednesday’s polls.
