HORROR IN GOMA: Displaced People’s Camp Hit With Explosives, At Least 9 Dead and Several Injured

A war displaced people’s camp has been hit with serious explosions leaving at least 9 people and several seriously injured this Friday afternoon at the Lac Vert, in the outskirts of the city of Goma, North Kivu Province.

Local sources have revealed that of shell projectiles had come from the front line near Sake
of Masisi territory where fighting between the M23 rebellion and the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) has intensified over the past few days.

“A bomb was dropped by M23 terrorists and killed 9 women and children,” Dedesi Mitima, head of the Lac Vert district says.

Images from the scenes are unbearable as this is the umpteenth case since the fighting shifted into the town of Sake, located about twenty kilometers west of Goma.

More than 15 people have already been killed during explosions in Sake, Mugunga, Bulengo, among others. Areas that host displaced people.

After this tragedy this Friday, the displaced people tried to show their anger but the army stifled them.
