FIERCE CLASH: Leopards Confront Senegal’s Teranga Lions Pride at its Den

Two of the most competitive sides on the continent face-off in an highly-anticipated fixture to take centre stage in the west African nation’s capital tonight.

Democratic Republic of Congo, Leopards, will this evening come up against Senegal in a Group B 2026 FIFA World Cup encounter to be played at the Stade Abdoulaye Wade, 50,000 capacity arena in the capital Dakar.

The match will be a third round fixture of Group B currently led by Aliou Cisse’s Teranga Lions who have 4 points from their first two qualification matches while the Leopards of DR Congo sit third with 3 points.

The Leopards coached by Frenchman Sebastien Desabre will be gunning for three points tonight in order to put their qualification for the World Cup on track but it will be no easy task defeating a Senegal side that is yet to lose at home since September, 2023.

Speaking ahead of this Thursday night’s clash, Desabre said that his will have to surpass their performance to beat Senegal and urged his players to be ready for a “big match” against one of the best teams on the continent.

For his part, Senegal coach Aliou Cisse said his side will the DR Congo as they are a good side as well as for their strong performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations where they finished third.

After tonight’s encounter, the Leopards are expected to fly back into Kinshasa to prepare for their next Group B encounter against Togo at the Pentecost Martyrs Stadium in three days time.
