FAREWELL SPEECH: Tshisekedi Set To Bid Farewell To DRC As He Delivers Final Speech On Tuesday

After a failed five-year term in which he failed his own people by not delivering to his promises to bring sanity to the nation, the Republican President addresses the nation for the last time in his tenure of office.

Republican President Fèlix Tshisekedi Tshilombo will on Tuesday 14 November 2023 deliver his final speech to the nation in parliament in what looks to be his very last address to Democratic Republic of Congo that looks set for a change of government this December.

Tshisekedi will deliver his speech to the two houses of parliament during the congress meeting at the Palais du Peuple.

After a failed tenure of office in which he failed to contain the security situation, poverty and corrupt practices, Tshisekedi addresses the nation on Tuesday for the last time and 10 days before the official launch of the electoral campaigns for the elections scheduled for December 20.

In his speech, Tshisekedi is set to address the current situation in eastern DRC that has been ravaged with the war caused by the continued emergence local and foreign armed groups who particularly taken over the Masisi and Rutshuru territories.

He will also comment on the general elections, several major stages of the electoral calendar have already been completed as well as the socio-economic situation of the country marked by the decline in the purchasing power of the Congolese and many other issues.

The DRC has been predicted to be set for a change in government in the upcoming 20 December polls with Tshisekedi facing fierce competition from popular opposition candidate Moïse Katumbi.
