ELECTORAL FRAUD: Attitude Of DRC Election Will Create Discontent – Cardinal Ambongo

Respected Catholic priest Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo has expressed concern that the spirit in which the Democratic Republic of Congo election will breed discontent.

Widespread electoral fraud has been recorded with President Felix Tshisekedi’s supporters caught voting in their homes.

Opposition leader Moise Katumbi has won the vote despite the fraudulent process but CENI president Denis Kadima is preparing to award victory to Tshisekedi.

The opposition has since called for the annulment of the elections in the wake of the fraud.

Cardinal Ambongo has not minced his words and decried the disorganization displayed by Kadima.

“I am very concerned that these
types of election organizations do not necessarily bring peace and serenity to our country by creating a lot of frustration
in the hearts of all those who were not able to vote. Everyone spent a day, two days waiting and three days later we still
learn that there are some who continue to vote and we fear that this kind of attitude will end up creating discontent,” said Cardinal Ambongo.
