Opposition MLP president Franck Diongo has been kidnapped by suspected state agents.
Diongo was picked up on Tuesday as he was coming from a funeral in Kabinda.
“As he was returning from a mourning, his vehicle was stopped by several armed men at Kabinda on the oil mill in Kinshasa and proceeded to arrest him for an unknown destination,” a relative of Diongo has disclosed.
Diongo has been critical of President Felix Tshisekedi and those close to him see his kidnapping as attempt to silence him ahead of the elections in December.
