UDPS MOCKS OPPOSITION: With Evident Electoral Chaos, Ruling Party Say, “They’re Scared Of Elections”

Ruling party Secretary General Augustin Kabuya has mocked the opposition after Ecide leader Martin Fayulu boycotted the process citing widespread irregularities.

Various bodies including American and European Union agents have observed widespread irregularities in the preparation for the December 20, 2023 presidential amd parliamentary elections.

Despite the opposition calls to engage CENI over their concerns, the call has fallen on deaf ears.

Kabuya has said Fayulu withdrew from the race because he was scared of a humiliating defeat.

“Even if we put Fayulu and Katumbi at the CENI, they will have difficulty citing another name instead of that of Félix Tshisekedi,” he said.

The UDPS strongman says the determination of his political party to win the general elections next December, and especially the presidential election through Félix Tshisekedi is unmatched.

Kabuya claims Tshisekedi will emerge victorious even if opposition candidates in Fayulu or Moïse Katumbi were the head of the independent national electoral commission (CENI).

“You have seen those who wasted their time insulting the Head of State, paying their journalists to insult, today they are afraid of the elections. As I told you, even if we put Fayulu as president of the CENI, it will be difficult to cite another name instead of that of Félix Tshisekedi, since the situation on the ground shows that if there are elections Félix Tshisekedi will win them,” Kabuya claims.

The comments by Kabuya is confirmation of how Tshisekedi is confident of the rigging machine deployed which includes using the military to intimidate the population and thwart the opposition.
