ABROAD EVERY NINE DAYS: Tshisekedi Arrives in Brussels on “Working Visit”

Democratic Republic of Congo President Fèlix Tshisekedi has arrived in Brussels, Belgium on a “working visit” to mark his fourth trip abroad in just 38 days after his re-election.

President Tshisekedi arrived in Brussels on Wednesday and is scheduled to meet Belgian Prime Minister Alexander Decroo to discuss matters of bilateral cooperation, mutual interest and the ongoing war in eastern DRC.

The head of state traveled to Brussels directly from Angolan capital Luanda where he held talks with that nation’s President, João Lourenço.

Prior to his trips to Luanda and Brussels, Tshisekedi has already been to Windhoek in Namibia as well as Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

Tshisekedi’s frequent trips abroad and flashy lifestyle have already spark a major concerns considering the cost for a country with an economic crisis.

With 4 trips in 38 days since his second term started, simple calculations show that Tshisekedi travels abroad every nine days at least every nine and half days.
