Suspected UDPS thugs belonging have attacked and vandalized the home of rhumba star Fally Ipupa after an image of him meeting French president Emmanuel Macron went viral on social media.
Most Congolese nationals are resentful of the French president and its leadership. They believe France is one of the backers of Rwanda leader Paul Kagame whose nationals have turned into rebels in the eastern parts of Congo and are causing havoc.
So a superstar like Fally meeting Macron is an endorsement of the war on DRC by Rwanda and the M23.
President Felix Tshisekedi and Kagame have fallen out of their earlier pact with both parties seemingly teetering towards a bloodbath.
