While the Constitutional Court deliberated the candidature of Ensemble pour la République president Moise Katumbi, his tour of Kenya Township in Lubumbashi triggered euphoria among residents of the densely populated community.
Youths captured during the tour were excited to see Katumbi visit a senior citizen who worked in the government over the years.
“For the love of Moise, they will have to kill us.
“We are ready for them. Number 3, he is our candidate. For us, it’s him or nothing,” said one youth.
Another encouraged Katumbi to stand firm and be strong ahead of the December 20, 2023 presidential and legislative elections.
“This election is your Moise to win. Be ready for them.
“Go and wire them,” he said while flashing three fingers signifying the the number assigned to him among the 24 candidates by CENI.
Women and young ladies joined the procession that created foot-traffic jam in the community.
President Félix Tshisekedi, through his agent and Kasai tribesmate Noel Tshiani, is trying to use the Constitutional Court to eliminate Katumbi from the race as he is seen as the strongest challenger.
