After five years of unfulfilled promises and lack of solution to several problems faced, the population of Gbadolite in Nord-Ubangi Province have decided its time for incumbent President Fèlix Tshisekedi to vacate the presidential seat.
The city of Gbadolite came alive this afternoon following the arrival of opposition coalition candidate Moïse Katumbi and his allies for a series of campaign meetings.
An overwhelming crowd of over 80,000 people turned up to offer their support for Katumbi and the Congo Ya Makasi.
Katumbi was joined by new Congo Ya Makasi partner Delly Sesanga who withdrew his candidacy from the presidential race to join the opposition pact.
At the rally, the highly expectant Gbadolite crowd chanted “goodbye Fatshi” to bid farwell Tshisekedi whom they intend to replace with Katumbi in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, Katumbi expressed his gratitude to the people of Gbadolite for their support and promised to ensure the Coca-cola factory, that has been long closed, operational again.
Katumbi later proceeded to visit hospitals around the city of
Gbadolite where he replicated his goodwill of paying up all the patients’ medical bills.
