When President Félix Tshisekedi declared he will face anyone who challenged his rule head on, his supporters applauded him.

That was at a church event a few months ago in Mbuji-Mayi. The reality of his declaration manifested in Goma when members of the elite presidential guard used live ammunition on unarmed demonstrators.
