M23 rebels have launched a series of on eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This is despite declarations by President Felix Tshisekedi that he was ready to take on the rebels.
The rebels who are said to be back by Rwanda were on the ground yesterday evening and the early hours of today.
Their presence was particularly dominant in the villages of Rugogwe, Busumba, Kilolirwe and other villages occupied by our elements Wazalendo.
The clashes forced the M23 to retreat to Kilolirwe but they still maintain strong presence in the area.
Security sources disclosed that the majority of the resistance was faced in Kausa areas.
