Opposition Ecide leader Martin Fayulu has denounced the creation of a UDPS militia describing it as a recipe for anarchy.
The ruling party has created a militia of youths comprising Kasais, the Head of State’s tribesmates, to terrorize youths the opposition ahead of the elections on December 20, 2023.
According to onlookers, the ruling party militia are feared by the national police and in some instances the two parties collaborate.
Fayulu is livid about such a reality saying, “the creation of private militias, especially in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi, that terrorize the population is illegal. The National Police is showing itself incapable of destroying these young militias paid and maintained by the UDPS and some personalities close to the current power,” he said.
Fayulu has warned that if the trend is left unchecked, choas will be the order of the day in the DRC and the current leadership will fail to hand the crisis.
