In a shocking tribal statement, Kasai-Central Province governor John Kabeya has declared President Fèlix Tshisekedi as the only candidate for the Kasai people in the upcoming 20 December Presidential Elections.
Speaking at a gathering governor Kabeya told the Kasai people not to entertain any candidate with not of the Kasai tribe or other than Tshisekedi.
Kabeya further adds that candidates not of the Kasai origin needed to go and contest in their regions of origin.
Kabeya’s comments comes after a number of tribal and divisive acts that have been seen under the leadership of President Tshisekedi.
Most notably has been the litany of high ranking government officials coming from the Kasai region that have been appointed by Tshisekedi including the President of the Constitution Court, the President of Ceni, Ministers of Finance, Interior and several others.
