Congolese international basketball sensation Jonathan Kuminga is expected to spend time off court action after he sustained a sprained ankle.
Kuminga suffered the injury in NBA action on Wednesday when his side Golden State Warriors beat Memphis Grizzlies by a 121 to 113 score.
This is a huge blow for the 22-year old Congolese international winger who was on the rise for his 4th season in the colors of the Golden State Warriors, much to the regret of his coach, Steve Kerr.
“It’s not going to be something that’s dealt with day by day, it’s a significant injury. JK was playing the best basketball of his career, and he’s going to be missed. But Kyle (Anderson) will take over,” he said.
As the second best scorer this season for the Californian franchise, Goma native has already broken two records this season after becoming the youngest Warriors player to reach 3000 points in a career and having 34 points, twice.
