Democratic Republic of Congo local media reports that the Rwandan army is planning an invasion of the eastern parts of Congo where they allegedly want to massacre civilians.
According to the reports, the Rwandan army is targeting the territories of Nyrangongo and Masisi in North Kivu province.
The Congolese army, FARDC, has urged its citizens to be more vigilant and denounce any suspicious movement.
The authorities state that denouncing and alerting others of the imminent threat will benefit the entire population of the country’s eastern parts which shares a border with Rwanda and has been subject of a long period of war with rebels dominating the space.
Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi and his Rwandese counterpart Paul Kagame have recently traded blows over instability in the area with the former accusing the latter of sponsoring the unrest while the latter has accused the former of mismanaging his country.
