RIGGING PLOY: Tshisekedi Pushing Hard To Steal Congo Election Using Flawed Opinion Polls

President Félix Tshisekedi’s bid to win the Democratic Republic of Congo polls next week has engaged in high gear with an attempt to rely on a flawed and inconclusive opinion poll.

GeoPoll gives an estimation of Tshisekedi winning the poll by 55% which is a complete opposite of the prevailing circumstances.

Although the assessment agrees that Tshisekedi’s approval rating has dropped way below 50%, the survey being spread by the ruling party is inconclusive and flawed as it does not factor the greater part of the voting block.

The DRC is vast with 26 provinces majority of whom have warmed up to the opposition candidate Moise Katumbi who has attracted four others to his side.

Former Prime Minister Augustin Matata Ponyo Mapon, Delly Sessanga, Franck Diongo and Seth Kikuni all bring considerable sipport towards Katumbi’s candidature.

GeoPoll only focused on the demographics in Kinshasa which only has 11% of the total vote and is heavily divided with Katumbi, based in South east Congo of Lubumbashi, making considerable inroads.

The former Katanga governor is commanding over 90% support in the Katanga region and will replicate the same support in North and South Kivu.

Katumbi is also scoring better in the Northern parts of Congo, cebtral Congo and the western parts of the country.

President Tshisekedi’s only sure bet of having an edge over Katumbi is in the Mbuji-Mayi areas of Kasai region.

However, Katumbi has also made inroads in other Kasai areas of Kananga and Sankuru.

DRC goes to the polls on December 20, 2023 with a little over 40 million registered to vote in what is a chaotic process.

Tshisekedi wants to use the chaos and some favorable opinion polls cooked in his favor to justify the rigging of the elections.
