Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi has given former Prime Minister and presidential candidate in the 2023 election Augustin Matata Ponyo 72 hours to prove his allegations that the official received kickbacks from a government contract he signed.
In a series of recent tweets, Matata Ponyo accused Kazadi, the finance minister, of diverting donor funds particularly those allocated by the AfDB to commission government studies and that he asked for a 20% commission from the transaction.
Kazadi says Ponyo’s claims were false and malicious; therefore, if the former Prime Minister does not retract his claims, lawyers will proceed to file a complaint with the courts of law so the matter could be adjudicated.
