PRESEASON: Lupopo Return To Zambia For CAF Champions League Season Preps

DR Congo’s envoys in the upcoming edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup FC Saint-Eloi Lupopo have landed in neighbouring Zambia for their pre-season training camp.

Lupopo contingent by club President Jacques Kyabula Katwe, arrived in Ndola Tuesday, and have set base in the city where they opted to play their home matches in last season’s Confed Cup.

Mohamed Magassouba’s side have identified the magnificent Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as the their training base in Ndola.

Lupopo are set to play a series of friendly matches against Zambian top-flight clubs including giants Zesco United as well as Nkana.

The Railmen played all three of their home matches in the Confederation Cup in Ndola after their home, Frederic Kibassa Maliba Stadium in Lubumbashi failed to get CAF approval to host international matches.

Eliminated at the group phase in last season’s competition, Lupopo will be looking to go further in the Confederation Cup this time around.

Magassouba’s enter the 2023/24 edition of the Confederation Cup at the pre-group stage and will face the winner between South African side Sekhukhune United and Young Buffaloes of Eswatini.
