Minister of State Budget Aimé Boji experienced a torrid time negotiating through his native region of South Kivu where his motorcade got stuck in the muddy and deplorable road network.
Five years after being voted into government, Boji return’s to Bukavu to plead for votes on behalf of incumbent Fèlix Tshisekedi has not gone so well.
Boji and his team spent hours stuck on the muddy roads that he and Tshisekedi had promised to work on five years ago.
The embarrassing scenes reminded Boji and the Tshisekedi government of their neglect towards the community of South Kivu.
Aside Boji, South Kivu is also home to other influential government officials in the Tshisekedi regime including deputy Prime Minister Vital Kamerhe.
However despite this great representation, the region remains one of the most underdeveloped in the country.
