OKENDE FAMILY SEEK ANSWERS: Late Cherubin Okende’s Family Pay Interior Security Minister Visit

After two and half months since the gruesome murder of former Transport Minister Cherubin Okende, his family have grown impatient over the authorities delay to furnish them with answers surrounding his death.

On Wednesday, Okende’s family visited Interior Security Minister Peter Kazadi in Kinshasa seeking to know details that had been fetched so far in the ongoing investigations.

“Okende’s widow and father came to see the Interior Security Minister because the matter has delayed for too long” Okende family legal representative, Laurent Onyemba said.

Meanwhile, reacting to the bereaved Okende family’s visit, Minister Peter Kazadi said government had felt the family’s concern and promised to provide results in the coming weeks.

“The children don’t go to school, the widow doesn’t know how to move. It was normal for the widow to contact the VPM. He was attentive and asked to report to the head of state” Kazadi said.

Okende was murdered by unknown people on 13 June after being kidnapped with his lifeless body found in his car in Kinshasa.
