NABBED: DRC Authorities Thwart Rwandese Led Espionage In Kinshasa

The Ministry of the Interior Services in the Democratic Republic of Congo has it thwarted an espionage operation allegedly led by Rwanda.

An official of the government announced in Kinshasa on Tuesday evening that four men were now in custody for leading the operation.

The official was delighted that authorities in Congo were able to thwart the operation which is strongly linked to the Rwandan services operating in the capital Kinshasa and had been effectively “detected and dismantled”. 

Of the four arrested, two are presumed Congolese and the other two are Rwandese nationals. 

Official indication are that the spies had infiltrated the Congolese military and high-profile political figures as well as economic operators and members of the civil society.
