DR Congo mega-hit music star Fally Ipupa has cancelled his concert in Lemba, Kinshasa following the death of long time friend, Gauthier Ewing.
Fally Ipupa had been due to perform in Lemba on Wednesday in what was to be his final concert in the DR Congo before his upcoming European tour.
However, the Dicap La Merville has opted to withdraw from the show after being left dejected by news of the death of Gauthier Ewing, who had been Fally’s long-standing right-hand man and chief of staff.
“Fally Ipupa will not perform on Wednesday in Lemba. The musician is troubled by the mourning of Gauthier Ewing, a relative with whom he spent many beautiful moments. The official announcement will be made in the next few hours but everything has already been concluded internally,” a source close to Fally Ipupa revealed.
Fally Ipupa is set to perform in France and England next week but remains to be seen whether the mega-hit star will be able to perform in the two countries.
