The M23 Rebel Group have taken control of more new territories in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo following latest clashes with the Congolese army (FARDC) soldiers.
On Friday 8th March, the M23 managed to took control of the localities of Kashuga and Misinga, approximately 10 km from Mwesso in the territory of Masisi, North Kivu Province.
Sources in the east have revealed that the M23 continue to advance and occupying more territories by each day, putting pressure on the Congolese authorities.
Youths in the town of Rutshuru have since risen to call on the government to take seriously the threat of the M23’s dominance.
