Democratic Republic of Congo have made a comeback on a mission to qualify to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Gabon 2-0 last night.
The Leopards missed the 2021 edition but are in no mood to miss out on the 2023 edition.
After the win, the Leopards are now top of Group I with 7 points.
Goals by Aaron Tshibola in the 35th minute and Frank Kalala Mayele in the 83rd minute secured an important win for Sebastien Desabre’s side in Libreville.
DRC will face Sudan on September 4 and must win to confirm a place at the Ivory Coast games.
Sudan face Mauritania tomorrow. They have six points so if they win, they will top the group which will give them advantage to fight for a draw in the concluding fixture.
