Opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique party President Moïse Katumbi’s special advisor Salomon Kalonda Della has arrived in Brussels, Belgium where he will receive specialist medical care.
Kalonda arrived in Brussels on Friday after the Military Court finally approved his lawyers’ request for his provisional release from prison last Thursday, 29th March 2024.
He has since been admitted to Erasmus Hospital located at the Cloniques University in the Belgian capital.
Kalonda had been in the custody of the Congolese authorities since May 2023 facing trumped up charges of conspiring with the M23 Rebels to overthrow Fèlix Tshisekedi.
The Congolese Military Court could not prove its false allegations against Kalonda, prompting his release from Ndolo Prison in Kinshasa.
