Fèlix Tshisekedi’s re-election as President of the Democratic Republic of Congo has just given way for a scramble for power and riches of the nation amongst his greedy Ministers and Governors.
Lualaba Province Governor Fifi Masuka Saini is preparing to bleach the Congolese constitution for her personal gain.
Masuka plans to invalidate some newly-elected municipal councilors of the Union For The Congolese Nation (UNC) party in the mineral-rich Dilala Commune of Kolwezi in Lualaba Province.
The UNC party led by Prime Minister Vital Kamerhe part of a coalition with Tshisekedi’s ruling UDPS party, won 9 municipal seats in the strategic city of Kolwezi during the elections.
The results left the UNC party with full privilege to impose a Mayor of their choice to head the lucrative Dilala Commune.
However, Masuka aims to counter the Kamerhe and UNC party’s plans and take full control of Dilala as well as the mining concessions in the commune.
Masuka is in the next few weeks expected to initiate her plans and begin the process to invalidate the UNC party councillors.
