GAS STATION ROBBED: Gunmen Get Away With “Huge” Sum Of Money Bunia Gas Station Robbery

Dieu Merci Gas Station in Hoho township of Bunia, Ituri Province was on Wednesday 29 November robbed by armed men who got away with a substantial amount of money.

On Wednesday evening workers at the gas station were attacked by the robbers who also took with them a large sum of money with no loss of life recorded at the crime scene.

Daniel Mugisa, the owner of the gas station, in an interview says some of his workers were left wounded after being shot by the robbers.

“It’s thanks to my manager that we didn’t have any deaths because he cut off the electricity, which meant they didn’t kill anyone. However, I regret that bandits arrived at the time when the head of state passed through Bunia,” Mugisa said.

He continued; “It’s the only station that sells fuel cheaper. If I increase the price, it is the population who will pay, since the price risks increasing like in past weeks”.

The bandits had already fled the scene by the time the police had arrived on the scene in what is the latest robbery incident in Hoho township that already has of late recorded rising cases of banditry and armed robbery.
