FREED:Diongo Released Two Days After Okende Is Assassinated

Opposition Progressive Lumumbist Movement (MLP) leader Franck Diongo, an ally of former Katanga governor Moise Katumbi, has been released two days after Ensemble pour la République spokesperson Chérubin Okende was assassinated.

Diongo has been in jail for 25 days on instructions from President Felix Tshisekedi.

The outspoken Diongo was released today from Ndolo military prison.

According to sources, Diongo has been provissionally released.

He was arrested at Rond-point Huilerie and detained at the premises of the military intelligence services (DEMIAP) before being transferred to Ndolo prison.

Diongo was charges for offenses linked to his association with Katumbi.
