DRC REBEL ALLIANCE GROWS: Nangaa’s Coalition To Oust Tshisekedi Continues To Gain Momentum, “DRC Peace Is Only Guaranteed With Tshisekedi’s Departure”

A former ally of Jean Pierre Bemba has joined the Congo River Alliance which has joined forces with M23 rebels to oust the widely considered illegitimate Felix Tshisekedi saying his exit will guarantee peace in the country.

Jean-Jacques Mamba, a former deputy close ally of Bemba who also acted as spokesperson, says Tshisekedi’s presence as DRC president is the major obstacle to peace in the DRC.

“Under these conditions, only Tshisekedi’s surrender and departure from power can guarantee a climate conducive to the restoration of institutional order, democratic normality
and national reconciliation,” Mamba declared upon joining former CENI president Corneille Nangaa in the jungle in eastern Congo.

Rebels are within reach of Goma and Bukavu which may soon fall under their control as a demotivated Congolese army continue to surrender.

The region is currently only being kept within Tshisekedi’s reach by peacekeepers deployed by the United Nations.
