An opposition leader, Lens Omelonga, is rotting in the hands of the State Intelligence prison for over two months now for criticizing the extravagant lifestyle of First Lady Denis Nyakeru-Tshisekedi.
Omelonga was imprisoned for almost 2 months at the ANR, a state intelligence agency.
Omelonga, a member of the political party Envol which is led by Delly Sesanga, who has joined forces with Moise Katumbi, Augustin Matata Mapon and Martin Fayulu, is one of the many political prisoners of the first family.
He was transferred to the General Prosecutor’s Office near the Kinshasa/Matete Court of Appeal on
Friday, July 07, 2022 before being questioned.
Omelonga allegedly uttered damaging accusation which were defamatory of the Denise Nyakeru foundation. one of the organization the Tshisekedi dynasty is using to pilfer state coffers.
Human rights organizations and the opposition are protesting the criminalization of a civil offense such as defamation.
