DEATH SENTENCE: Police Man Handed Death Penalty For Killing Six-year Old Child in Kwilu

The Kikwit Garrison Military Court in Kwilu Province has sentenced a police officer to death for the murder of a six-year old girl at a market.

The incident happened last Sunday when the six-year old girl mate her fate at a local market after a police officer in an attempt to intimidate a rave mad man, fired his gun at the girl who died on the spot.

The bullet is also said to have injured the mother to child, an offense for which the police officer was handed a six month jail sentence.

In the same trial, the DR Congo government was also found civilly guilty and fined 10 million francs in damages to the family of the deceased girl and the mother.
