Democratic Republic of Congo’s corrupt Kasai Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi has reserved US$100,000 from the public purse which he intends to dish out to cadres to support his stay in cabinet.
Kazadi whose tenure as the Finance Minister has been disastrous with several irregularities such as embezzlement and corruption, is determined to retain his ministerial role and will try to buy the public’s support.
According sources, Kazadi intends to distribute as much as US$100,000 amongst cadres, political communicators and journalists in exchange of their support for his reappointment.
Kazadi is looking to have the public put pressure on President Fèlix Tshisekedi and Prime Minister Judith Suminwa to retain him as Finance Minister.
Preparations are underway for the appointment of a new cabinet following Tshisekedi’s appointment of Judith Suminwa as Prime Minister.
