CHAOTIC ELECTIONS: Kamitatu Says CENI Is Preparing For Disaster

Opposition Ensemble pour la République spokesperson Olivier Kamitatu says the country was preparing for a chaotic election which has the potential to plunge the country in untold misery.

Speaking as a guest on Radio Okapi, Kamitatu says his party, led by popular businessman Moïse Katumbi, has observed that there are glaring anomalies in the run up to the elections.

Kamitatu notes that the process lacks solid foundations which creates loopholes for a discredited outcome.

“It’s a bad process because it’s chaotic.

“It’s a process that risks getting out of hand at any time, but we have to go for this election because Moïse Katumbi is a democrat.

“Katumbi believes in the strength of the Congolese people who must express themselves very clearly,
freely and their decision be respected,” says Kamitatu.

CENI has refused to publish the list of voters at polling station per article 6 of the Congolese constitution.

The decision has added to fears that President Felix Tshisekedi is preparing to rig the election.
