A recorded message of an unidentified man warning Katangese of grave action should they consider secession has gone viral within the Congolese social media space.
The man, who speaks in Swahili which is predominately spoken in the south-east and eastern parts, says Katangese should not dare prove their Kasai nemesis.
Tension between Katangese and Kasai has increased recently following a proposed law that seeks to eliminate presidential candidates without two Congolese parents from the race.
The law dubbed Congolite is being fronted by Noel Tshiani, a tribesmate of President Felix Tshisekedi, whose aim is to eliminate Moise Katumbi from contesting the election in December 2023.
