Leading DRC opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique President Moïse Katumbi Chapwe is in the coming weeks set to role out his party’s program for the nation after successfully filing in his nomination for the upcoming 20 December 2023 Presidential Elections.
Katumbi successfully submitted his candidature on Wednesday after managing to overcome schemes by the incumbent Fèlix Tshisekedi’s camp to block him from being on the ballot.
The former Katanga Governor has already sent shockwaves into Tshisekedi and others in the presidential race after pulling massive crowds on his tour of the country to revitalize his party ahead of the polls and he promises to unsettle his competitors even further with the message of hope and his intended aims for the people of the DRC.
Katumbi is auspiciously targeting to deliver on a number of priorities for the DRC including restoration of stability and security by putting to an end the war in the eastern part of the country.
He aims to restore peace and end the insecurities in east DRC by reinstating the rule of law and fighting against impunity.
Katumbi has also set out a program to transform the DRC’s economy by upgrading the basic social services and guaranteeing equal access to state responsibilities for all to make the environment for business and investment favourable thereby creating a good deal of job opportunities for the citizenry.
Lastly, Katumbi intends to instill a culture of public accountability and prudence in the management of state affairs as well as launch a strong fight against corruption.
