WINNERS: Senegal’s Teranga Lions Win First CHAN Medal

Senegal yesterday won the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) champions trophy for the first time after defeating hosts Algeria 5-4 on penalties.

They defeated Algeria after a goalless draw in regulation time forced the match to go to penalties in the final played on Saturday night.

They won the first ever TotalEnergiesAFCON title for Senegal won under the management of Aliou Cissé.

They have also bagged the first first ever TotalEnergiesCHAN title for Senegal under the management of Papa Thiaw.
