WASTAGE EXPENDITURE: Katumbi To Abolish Salaried First Lady’s Office Introduced By Tshisekedi

Opposition common candidate Moïse Katumbi has announced he will abolish the Office of First Lady which is salaried and maintained by government coffers.

The position was introduced by President Felix Tshisekedi and is considered a waste of government resources by many Congolese who majory of workforce population is jobless.

Katumbi says he has offered himself to serve the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo as president for free as he promises to forfeit his salary if elected into office.

After a five year term characterized by severe plundering of public resources by the reckless President Fèlix Tshisekedi, his family and his cohorts, Katumbi presents himself as an agent of prudent handling of the national purse.

Under his reign, Tshisekedi has opened a public fund stealing office for his wife, Denise Nyakeru to support her extravagant and lavished lifestyle at the expense of poor Congolese population.

Katumbi has since sworn that he and his family would double up their efforts to help ease the challenges faced by the nation having already spread out several philanthropic works to different parts of the DRC.

“I am not going to receive anything in salary, my charming wife will not plunder the state coffers either, our couple has been helping the population for several years thanks to the blessing of God, reducing the lifestyle of institutions will be at the heart of my action at the head of the country” Katumbi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“The looters have been very agitated since my announcement. Woe to you, the well-being of the people is more important than your selfishness and predatory spirit.”

Katumbi, a successful businessman, has reiterated importance for accountability and prudent management of public funds in order to stabilize the collapsed Congolese economy.
