VOLATILE SECURITY SITUATION: Tshisekedi Set to Make Major Security Reshuffles After Failed Coup Attempt

Democratic Republic of Congo’s imposter President Felix Tshisekedi is set to fire a number of high-ranking security forces officials following Sunday’s scare of an unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the government in Kinshasa.

According to close sources, Tshisekedi had congratulated the army for its firm and proactive reaction to the threat but “does not digest the flaws in the security system” that led to the partial occupation, by the commando, of the Palais de la Nation.

Sources close to presidency also reveals that the partial occupation of Tshisekedi’s offices is perceived as a “serious mistake” by the head of state who has not yet planned to speak.

At the same time, several African and Western chancelleries including USA and Turkey as well as the Congo-Brazzaville continue monitoring the situation even more closely.

No official source has so far commented on the identities of the perpetrators of this coup attempt. Several sources cite a certain Christian Malanga, a former captain in the Congolese army, residing in the United States, who is alleged to be the leader of the said commando unit that attempted to take over.
